A CAT with 26 toes and extra large paws, that was taken in by Stroud Cats Protection, has created a media frenzy with newspapers as far away as India taking an interest in the unusual moggy.
Coco, the middle-aged jet black cat, was taken in as a stray in Dursley and is currently living with a volunteer fosterer in Nailsworth.
If her owner cannot be found within two weeks she will be re-homed.
The cat's unusual story has been featured in The Telegraph and The Mirror, and has even been picked up by BBC television news and an Indian newspaper.
Stroud Cats Protection has been inundated with calls from people wanting to adopt her.
Coco is a polydactyl cat – an animal or person with more than the usual number of hand or foot digits.
She has four normal claws and one dew claw with three claws in the pads on her front feet, and five claws at the back.
