MINCHINHAMPTON goodwill evening on Friday, December 5 will begin with a children’s torchlight procession from the Baptist Church to the Market House led by Clara the donkey. Rod Harris, headmaster of the primary school, will officially open the evening at 6pm and turn on the lights.

There will be a stable and nativity scene under the Market House, Santa will be in the Market Square and there will be fairground rides in the High Street.

Shops will open late and the Market House and The Barn at the Crown Inn will be packed with stalls.

Hot chocolate, hot dogs and roasted chestnuts will be sold. Choirs, musicians and some of Gifford’s Circus troop will add some colour to the streets.

Additional parking will be provided at Minchinhampton Youth Centre, Minchinhampton School and at the car park at the top of Bell Lane.

Any money raised will be donated to The Pied Piper Appeal and to Riding for the Disabled.
