THE WORKINGS of Painswick Parish Council have been criticised by Cllr Robert Cox who resigned in a letter read out last Wednesday, November 19. He said he ‘did not feel comfortable with the workings of the council’. Chairman Terry Parker said he was ‘dissapointed’ and that Mr Cox’s resignation was an ‘absolute bombshell, with no indication he was feeling that way’. “I am sorry he made that decision,” Mr Parker said. Mr Cox was elected to the council in May. If 10 or more residents call for an election by Friday, December 12 then one will be held. If they do not, a councillor will be co-opted. If this happens candidates should submit their CVs to the council by January 16.
