POLICE have issued an e-fit image of a suspect wanted in connection with the burglary of an elderly man’s bungalow in Whitminster, during which £600 was stolen.
The crime occurred between 8am on Monday, November 17 and 8am the following day on Tuesday, November 18, at the 73 year-old man’s property in Paynes Meadow.
The offenders gained entry via a window and searched the property before making off with £600 in cash.
It is believed the incident may have occurred in the late morning or early afternoon of Monday, November 17, as two smartly dressed men were seen at that time offering to clean windows in the area.
One of the men is described as white, approximately 30-40 years of age, 5ft 7ins tall, of stocky build, with dark brown bushy hair or wig. He was wearing a dark blue blazer, white or pale blue shirt and a tie.
Detective Sergeant Jon Smith, investigating officer, said: “We are currently in the process of conducting house-to-house enquiries with neighbours. The victim has lost a significant amount of his pension money to these heartless thieves and is extremely upset by what has happened.” Anybody with any information is asked to call Police on 0845 090 1234, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident 115 of November 18.
