TEACHERS inspire pupils with a wide range of stimulating and exciting activities, Ofsted inspectors commented when they visited Horsley Primary School.
Children, staff and governors were highly praised in the report which rated the school as good with some outstanding features.
Lead inspector Martin Kerly wrote to the children and said he was 'particularly impressed by the brilliant range of special activities the staff arrange for you, including all the visits and special events'.
Pupils attain standards well above average, with the large majority exceeding age-related expectations, he reported.
Parents echoed the inspector's positive views, with comments such as ‘we feel fortunate that our child can go to such an enriching and creative school’. Headteacher Martin Fry was thrilled by the glowing report and sees it as a testament to all the hard work put in by the children, staff, governors and parents.
Improvements could be made to the school building, the report commented.
But said: ‘Governors are engaged in a long-term plan to address them'.
Parent governor Angel Azcona said: “I feel this great report is a fair reflection of a normal week at Horsley School. I’m chuffed to bits my kids go there.”
