RUDI Graham drove a BMW in Butt Street, Minchinhampton at twice the drink-drive limit with no current driving licence.
Graham, 30, of The Tynings, Minchinhampton, was stopped by police on October 30 who conducted a roadside breath test.
Further tests revealed he had 73 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath – the legal limit being 35 microgrammes.
Although he had been paying a premium for an insurance policy he had not realised his licence had expired which meant it was void.
As Graham had committed another drink-drive offence within the last 10 years the minimum amount of time magistrates' could disqualify him for was three years.
Graham pleaded guilty to driving with excess alcohol, driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence authority and driving with no insurance, Stroud Magistrates' Court heard on Thursday.
He was disqualified from driving for three years and fined £225. He was ordered to pay costs of £60 plus a £15 victim surcharge.
