KINGS Stanley Primary School is set to be rebuilt after Gloucestershire County Council received Government funding. GCC put forward a bid for funding in June and was informed on Wednesday, November 12 by the Department for Children, Schools and Families that it had been successful. The first schools the county council has identified are Kings Stanley Primary School, St Peter’s Primary in Gloucester, Severnbanks Primary in Lydney and Lynworth and Whaddon Primary schools in Cheltenham. The county is set to receive £12 million in the first two years of the Government's 14 year Primary Capital Programme and wants to use other funding alongside it such as grants and developer contributions. Cllr Joan Nash, cabinet Member for schools, said: “This is great news for Gloucestershire schools and will result in modern and bright buildings that will enhance the pupils’ learning environment.
