A MOBILITY scooter was stolen in Stroud and then left damaged around a mile from the owner’s house yesterday.
The vehicle was stolen between 8.30am and 3.15pm on Tuesday, November 11 from the driveway of a property in Cotswold Road in Stroud.
The suspects opened the driveway gates and stole the black buggy. The buggy had a white canopy and is valued at £1,300.
It was subsequently discovered not far from the 67 year-old male victim’s house in Acre Place.
It is estimated that the damage caused to it will cost £500 to repair.
A Police spokesman said: “Needless to say the offenders did not consider for one moment the possible implications of their actions. Even if it was intended as a prank it was a thoroughly reprehensible act that has left an elderly man distressed and considerably out of pocket.”
Anyone with information should call 0845 090 1234, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting incident 289 of November 11.
