BY KIND permission of HRH Princess Royal, Katherine Jenkins will be performing at the first ever open air concert to be held at Gatcombe Park, Minchinhampton.
The “Gatcombe Park Last Night of the Proms” is taking place on Saturday, June 27, 2009, with Katherine performing alongside the National Symphony Orchestra, conducted by Anthony Inglis.
Re-defining the concept of classical crossover, Katherine has achieved global sales of over three million. Her debut album, 2004’s 'Premiere', was the fastest selling of all time by a Mezzo Soprano, with well over 30,000 copies snapped up in the first week.
She is the only singer in musical history to simultaneously hold the Number 1, 2, 3 and 4 position in the classical album charts, which she achieved with 'Premiere', 'Second Nature', 'Living the Dream' and 'Serenade’ in 2007. 'Serenade' also went to Number 5 in the pop charts and has sold over a half a million copies to date.
