STUDENTS from the area received a standing ovation at an iconic venue during a performance in which they added their own Stroudie twist to the choreography and characters.
Pupils from the Stroud area from the Pauline Quirke Academy of Performing Arts (PQA) received the ovation at His Majesty’s Theatre with their recent show Across the Line.
The (PQA) is a weekend performing arts academy for children and young people offering a range of opportunities in musical theatre, acting for stage and screen and filmmaking, through which they can develop and thrive.
As PQA enters its second decade in the West End with the new show ‘Across The Line’, academies nationwide once again have the chance to dazzle their friends and families with a spectacular performance at His Majesty’s Theatre in London, home of the long-running Phantom of the Opera.
Written especially for PQA by writer/producer-director Will Brenton, Across the Line is a contemporary, coming-of-age musical adventure perfect to celebrate each student’s individuality and put into practice the many skills they learn in their weekly classes.
PQA Stroud thrilled the audience at this packed out performance, demonstrating both talent and professionalism whilst adding their own Stroudie twist to the choreography and characters.
Marie, principal of PQA Stroud said: “Both the PQA team and students were very excited about performing ‘Across the Line’ in The West End.
"What a talented, creative and supportive set of students we have – it is an absolute honour to work with them every Saturday.
"We strive to offer our students amazing experiences within the performing arts industry and definitely enjoyed putting our unique stamp on the show!”
