THE Box Community Mission Church, Stroud Brewery Chimney and the Imperial Hotel back in the day.
The photographs were all taken from the Facebook group Stroud Area Photographs and Cotswolds Picture Postcards and are reproduced here with the group’s kind permission.
The Imperial Hotel looks magnificent in 1908.
The hotel , which once hosted Queen Elizabeth II, reopened as The Stroud after being vacant for almost four years.
The Grade-II listed property, which dates back to 1863, was acquired by Simon Berg of London-based S2 Estates in 2022 and has since undergone a £2 million refurbishment.
The Stroud is now home to an all-day restaurant, the Bucknall bar and 24 bedrooms, with room types ranging from cosy and deluxe to suites and family rooms.
