A WOMAN from Stonehouse who assaulted two A&E nurses has been jailed.

Lisa Saunders, aged 39, admitted assaulting the two female nurses at Southmead Hospital’s Emergency Department on March 29.

Saunders, of Juniper Way, Stonehouse, pleaded guilty to two charges of assault at Bristol Magistrates Court on November 4.

She was jailed for six weeks, with a custodial period of 13 weeks.

Saunders was also ordered to pay £77 in compensation.

The court register states Saunders was jailed because the offences were “so serious” that only a custodial sentence can be justified.

It also says it is due to Saunders’s history of failing to comply with probation and how she “hit out at nurses trying to provide her with care”.
