A FESTIVAL in Stroud ended on Sunday in 'record-breaking' style with its best ever ticket sales.
More than 5000 tickets were sold for events at Stroud Book Festival over the five days of the festival which welcomed a host of authors to Stroud including Michael Rosen, Rhianna Pratchett, Max Porter, Nick Sharratt, Kate Mosse, Anthony Joseph, Will Hutton, Guy Shrubsole and Ben Macintyre.
Organisers from Stroud Book Festival say they want to say an 'enormous' thank you to everyone who helped make this year’s celebration of stories, ideas and community for readers of all ages happen.
This includes the sponsors and supporters, venues, all authors and chairs, the local venues which provided hospitality to the visiting authors, Stroud Bookshop & the Yellow Lighted Bookshop, and the magnificent team of festival volunteers.
Stroud Book Festival programme director Caroline Sanderson said: “Most of all we would like to thank our wonderful audiences who so loyally support what we do.
"Stroud Book Festival is a massive and costly undertaking, and everyone who bought a ticket has helped make it possible.
"Thank you, readers of Stroud”.
