SUNDAY’S Remembrance service in Stroud was hit with what has been labelled as a ‘disgraceful’ incident.
Hundreds attending the service in Park Gardens were left stunned as loud music suddenly began playing from inside a nearby property.
The sound could be heard for several minutes and resulted in the service being paused while the situation was resolved.
It happened after the two-minutes silence had finished while a prayer was being read.
Two police officers at the service knocked on the door to speak to the householder.
Meanwhile, a member of the public also went over to ask for the music to be turned off, saying it was ‘disgraceful’.
It carried on playing for several minutes with no response from anyone inside the property.
Eventually a man could be heard shouting something relating to Remembrance out of a window in response to the claim that it was ‘disgraceful’.
The music was eventually turned off and the service carried on as normal afterwards.
