A MAN from a village in the Stroud area has been fined after he was caught using a mobile phone while driving.
Luke Smith, aged 21, of Nupend, Eastington, was spotted driving while using a phone in Alkerton Road in the village on February 26.
The case was heard at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on October 7, where Smith pleaded guilty.
He was fined £138 and ordered to pay a £55 surcharge plus £110 in costs - a total of £303.
The court register states Smith was not banned from driving as he needs his licence for his job as a carer.
