A MOTORING instructor from the area has driven himself to an astonishing national title.
Michal Polowczyk has been named Driving Instructor of the Year.
The title was awarded at RED Driver Training’s annual awards ceremony following a competition at their Donington Training Centre at Donington, Derbyshire.
Michal, from Quedgeley, won the title after a closely contested event between some of the nation’s best driving instructors who were invited based on the amount of 5-star reviews awarded by students and their impact within the driving instructor community.
Donington Park is widely recognised for its motorsport racetrack, hosting a series of motorsport events throughout the year, and is also the base for training instructors at RED.
Michal and his peers participated in a wide range of competitions throughout the day, being scored on their abilities such as identifying hazard perceptions, manoeuvring skid cars and pushing their driving skills by operating lorries for the first time.
The instructors’ impressive performances put them in contention for the top spot - but ultimately Michal secured the title of the 2024 Driving Instructor of the Year.
Seb Goldin, CEO of RED Driver Training, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome some of the nation’s best and most passionate driving instructors to our Donington training centre over the weekend. All those involved showed incredible skill, but it was Michal whose performance put him on top, allowing us to crown him as Driving Instructor of the Year.
"We look forward to seeing him continue to make an impact on future drivers across the country.”
