STEAM engine fans will be delighted by the sight of Engine 6106 in this week's nostalgia section.

The magnificent engine is pictured at Brimscombe Engine Shed and the picture is courtesy of Derek King.

The engine was built in 1931 in Swindon and after a long life the locomotive was given a cosmetic overhaul and repaint in 2019.

Do you remember the glory days of Steam travel in England?

St Mary's Mill pictured in Chalford played a huge part in Stroud's history as a woollen mill.

One of the most picturesque mills in the Stroud Valleys is St Mary’s in Chalford.

Built like a diminutive Ebley Mill, it retains an imposing but static water wheel.

A Tangye steam engine, which was working until the 1960s, is now powered by electricity.
