LATEST Farmers' Market news by Gerb Gerbands.

Now that November has arrived, I feel I’m allowed to mention our Chrimbo markets.

We know how important planning can be!

This year will be the 10th year of our annual “Finish your Christmas Shopping in Stroud” Christmas markets at the Cornhill market Square.

We hold them in the run up to the final Saturday of the year, so this year’s markets will run on Wednesday 18, Friday 19 and Friday, December 20 from 9am-4pm, and feature Arts and Crafts, Fairtrade Gifts and Foods such as Chocolates, Cheeses and Wines.

Check out the “Stroud Christmas Markets” Facebook page for stallholders’ news and updates.

Amazingly the Friday is already fully booked with 34 stalls.

We have a few spaces left for the Wednesday and Thursday so any local makers or businesses that would like to sell please email markets@fresh-n-local.co.uk

There will be two farmers’ markets after that, with the Saturday, 21 market and a final one on the Tuesday, Christmas Eve.

Most order collections will be on the Christmas Eve.

I’ve not had time recently to introduce a great new stall to the market.

Solux are situated near the empty Toy Shop and are a business of the times.

Young people dedicated to a healthy vegan lifestyle selling fabulous smoothie blends and other vegan treats as well as their mate’s crystal and copper jewellery.

They also sell at Gloucester farmers’ market on Fridays and there was a throng around them on Saturday!

Nothing makes me happier than seeing our young folk starting foodie businesses and selling direct to the public.
