POLICE were called after around 250 teenagers tried to attend a house party near Stroud last night.
It is understood that a small party in Horsley spiralled out of control after scores of uninvited youngsters turned up having seen posts on social media.
According to reports online, the boy who organised the event tried to turn them away but was unable to deal with the numbers.
It appears that the boy's parents were away at the time and they have since taken to the village Facebook page to apologise saying: "We want to apologise for the party last night at our house that got completely out of control.
"We’re so sorry to everyone as it must’ve been really stressful."
They also warned of the dangers of sharing details of such events on social media and thanked the police for attending.
In a statement, Gloucestershire police said: "We were called to the Horsley area of Stroud shortly after 10.40pm last night, Wednesday, with a report of a party which was out of control.
"Officers attended and around 250 people were in attendance.
"It was deemed that no offences were committed and everyone was asked to leave the area."
