BOLTING Bea Brandish beams with a glass of bubbly to celebrate an astonishing sporting achievement.
Super-gran Bea completed the Stroud Half Marathon on Sunday - her 75th birthday.
Afterwards, a well-deserved celebration was held with Prosecco and cake under a gazebo on Marling School with teammates from the Cotswold Allrunners, family and friends.
The mother of two, grandmother and step-grandmother of six and great-grandmother of seven has made a return to running after a four-year gap.
Bea started running at the age of 59, encouraged by her son Simon Barnes, founder of the Cotswold Allrunners.
Since then she has completed six London Marathons, several half marathons and 10k events, seven Cotswold relay races and plus trail races.
She also participates in three leisure centre classes a week.
“It’s good to be back running regularly after a four year break due to some hiccups and caring for my mother,” said Bea.
“I don’t think I will ever get to the stage of doing marathons again but I will do half marathons and 10k events.”
