A STROUD man who allegedly lay on railway tracks has been charged with two criminal offences.

Adam Booth, aged 35, is accused of committing the offence at Cam and Dursley Railway Station on Tuesday, September 24.

Booth, of Nouncells Cross, Stroud, is charged with ‘lying on the tracks, obstructing an engine or carriage using the railway’.

The charge has been bought under the Malicious Damage Act 1861.

He is also charged with trespassing on a railway.

The case was heard at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on Tuesday, October 15.

Booth failed to attend and a warrant was issued for his arrest.

British Transport Police told the SNJ that officers were called to the station around 11.30pm on September 24.

A 35-year-old man was arrested and released on bail.
