REPAIR WORKS begin today on a key Stroud road which has witnessed traffic chaos in recent days.
Today, Thursday, October 17, repair works begin on London Road at Bowbridge after recent traffic chaos in the area.
Stroud has seen six days of traffic mayhem with traffic crawling along Westward Road, Cashes Green Road, Cainscross Road, Dudbridge Hill and Bath Road on Wednesday, October 16.
A Gloucestershire Roads spokesperson said: "Repair works for the A419 in Stroud will start today, October 17, following investigations beneath the carriageway.
"The temporary lights will remain in place for safety , controlled at peak times to aid traffic flow,
"Apologies for delays and for any inconvenience caused."
Meanwhile, works will be returning to the roundabout near Waitrose and Dr Newton's Way tonight, which will mean a road closure.
A Gloucestershire Roads spokesperson said: "Works will be returning to complete remaining outstanding lining on October 17.
"A road closure will be in place between 11pm and 7am.
"We thank you for your cooperation and understanding."
