LOS CUBANOS is the latest restaurant to open in Stroud town centre.

Cuban street food is on the menu at the latest business which has just opened at Stroud’s Five Valleys market.

Chef and business owner Alexis Medina is bringing his unique take on the Cuban kitchen to the heart of Stroud.

The team from the family run business have spent the last two months transforming the large unit next to the Artisan Baker into their own little piece of Cuba – and the new venture was launched with a special opening party on Friday evening (October 4).

The menu features authentic Cuban street food dishes as well as a range of mojitos.

The Los Cubanos menu features the classic Cuban sandwich as well as frijoles negros (black bean stew) arroz con girs (rice and peas) as well as Cuban tortillas and a delicious choice of sides including sweet potato, cassava and plantain fries.

Alexis said: “We are so pleased to have opened the doors to Los Cubanos here at Five Valleys, it’s great to be part of the market area here and to bring our unique menu to the area.

"Cuba is a cultural melting pot and we’ve really tried to capture that with the look and feel of the space at Five Valleys.

"We’ve had a great welcome here in Stroud and we’re really excited to be here.”

Centre Manager at Five Valleys, Erica Malpass, said: “You really can eat your way round the world at our fabulous Five Valleys market and its fantastic that we now have a taste of Cuba with our newest street food trader, Los Cubanos.

“We wish Alexis and his team all the very best with their new venture.”
