PUPILS from Chalford Hill Primary School this week received a special visit from the police.
Gloucestershire Constabulary’s Mounted Police Division, including an 8-month-old grey mare called Chalford, visited pupils at the primary school.
Chalford Hill pupils entered a competition to name the newest recruit to the Gloucestershire Constabulary’s Mounted Police Division, and won!
‘Chalford’ has “flown through training” and is now ‘on the beat’ with the other horses in the division.
As a treat for the winning school, Chalford and fellow police horse, Teddington, visited on Wednesday morning, accompanied by their riders, Sergeant Lovell and PC Walker
. To get to the school, the horses were ridden up Dark Lane, a very steep approach road, as the division’s lorry was unable to navigate the winding roads leading to the school!
