THE Javelin Park Energy from Waste Facility near Stonehouse has announced its next open day.
The Gloucestershire Energy from Waste Facility, operated by FCC Environment on behalf of Gloucestershire County Council, is open for visitors on Saturday, October 19 - but places must be booked in advance via the link below
The event will feature three one-hour sessions, starting at 10am, 11.30am and 1pm.
Each session is designed for small groups, such as families, couples, or friends, with a maximum capacity of 15 people per tour.
Attendees will be guided through key areas of the facility including the waste cranes, combustion grate, and the stack, offering a unique view into the workings of the energy recovery process.
Booking will be on a first-come, first-served basis.
General manager Dan Pearson said: “This open day continues the facility’s commitment to educating the public about the importance of sustainable waste management, energy recovery and the role of reducing landfill use.
“After the overwhelming response to previous events, this open day will provide another opportunity for visitors to gain insight into the energy from waste process and explore the plant up close.
“We have had such strong interest in our previous tours and we’re excited to welcome more visitors from across the county.
“It’s essential that we engage with the community and highlight the environmental benefits of energy from waste. We’re hopeful that these events are helping people feel more involved with what we do.”
