THIS was the dramatic scene in a busy car park in Stroud this morning as police swooped on a suspect who appeared to be on the run.
It began around 10.45am when shouts could be heard in London Road car park.
A police car could be seen in the car park while an officer was seen chasing a male suspect who appeared to be aged around 40 in tracksuit trousers, trainers and a grey top.
The male was then seen in handcuffs by the police vehicle and appeared to be calm.
A large police van then turned and five uniformed officers appeared to be dealing with the situation and eventually the man was led into the back of the vehicle which left the scene around 11.20am.
The police have been approached for comment.
