A FORMER member of one of the most influential electropop outfits of all time is due to perform at a venue in Brimscombe next month.

Wolfgang Flür, part of electronic group Kraftwerk from 1973 to 1987, is bringing MUSIK SOLDAT to Studio 18 at Hope Mills Business Centre on Saturday, October 5.

The genres of the gig are described as house, techno and acid house, with DMX Krew, Neon Pumps and special guest Peter Duggal also featuring at the event.

Kraftwerk are broadly considered pioneers and innovators of electronic music and were among the first successful acts to popularise this genre.

Their single The Model/Computer Love reached number one on the UK singles chart in 1981.

The line-up of Wolfgang, Ralf Hütter, Florian Schneider and Karl Bartos is now viewed as the classic live line-up of the band.

The event begins at 8pm on October 5 and lasts until 1am.

Attendees must be 18 or older.

First wave tickets cost £21.15 (£19 plus a booking fee) and are available from tinyurl.com/WolfgangAt18
