DO you have any recollections of Brimscombe Wharf from back in the day?
Visitors to the Facebook group Stroud Area Photographs and Cotswold Picture Postcards said they believed the picture shows James Smart's barge Gem.
Smart owned a small fleet of barges and narrow canal boats, which were mainly used to carry coal, road stone and general cargoes to wharfs along the Stroud Valley and up into the Cotswolds
Do you have any memories or photographs of Gem you can share with readers of the Stroud News and Journal?
There is also a wonderful old picture of a police officer in Stroud as well as a picture of a family on a day out outside the Holloway building in Stroud from the 1900s. If you have any old images of Stroud or the surrounding district please email them to matthew.holmes@newsquest.co.uk
