IF YOU come across a golden ram skull in Stroud in the near future, you could find yourself bagging a ticket to watch performances by three musical acts.

Underground art, music and events label Sentient Rash is hosting a golden ram skull treasure hunt in the town, with the person who returns the skull to Sound Records in George Street winning a free ticket to a show at Stroud Brewery in Brimscombe.

The event at the London Road venue on October 25 will feature performances by the acts Seas Of Mirth, Earl Temple Foundation and Dog of Man.

The only clue to the skull’s whereabouts reads: “Carob Cleanser Chateau Clean Cane Canal.”

According to Sentient Rash, which is hosting the event with Stroud Brewery, the show offers “an unmissable aquatic disco psych funk party” featuring acts from Stroud and further afield.

Nottingham’s Seas Of Mirth are a genre-swerving festival band with an interactive deep-sea twist.

Fronted by founding guitarists Al Judders and C Ball Paul, their new album Kriller covers everything from wonky disco funk to psych-y prog pop, to worldly dance beats.

Earl Temple Foundation, meanwhile, are a Stroud “neo-proto-post-punk-jazz combo” which will offer “new sounds retrieved from their recent visits to the future”.

The final act, Dog of Man, from Stroud, are performing as a duo intentionally for the first time.

They promise to “crank up the psych-punk freakout to cleanse you of all your recently-collected worries, neuroses and general gumpth”.

Doors to the show open at 7.30pm, with the bands on from 8pm to 11pm.

Early-bird tickets cost £7, while general tickets cost £10.
