COUNCILS are cracking down on flyposting at the former M&Co building in Stroud town centre.

The building - which could be turned into a pub if plans are approved - has a notice on it warning people from flyposting.

The joint Stroud District and town council notice reads: "Any posters placed on this property without the permission of the property owner will be reported to Stroud District Council for possible enforcement action.

"Flyposters can face a fine of £100 and a fine up to £2,500 upon conviction (plus £250 for each day during which the offences continues after conviction). "

According to their website, SDC says it 'aims to remove unauthorised fly posters within 48 hours where possible.'

Those who want to report flyposting should contact their local neighbourhood warden.
