PAINSWICK tennis ace Alicia Barnett has this afternoon reached the quarter-finals of the mixed doubles at Wimbledon after another victory.
The former Stroud High School pupil and playing partner Marcus Willis beat the US pair of Katie Volynets and Rajeev Ram in three sets.
Losing the first set 6-2, Barnett and Willis played some subline tennis in the second which they would win 6-3.
Playing in front of an energetic home crowd on court two the match - like the previous one for the British pair - was decided by a best to 10 third set tie-break.
Barnett's stunning ace when the score was 7-7 in the crucial tie-break was one of the standout highlights.
Saving match point, Barnett and Willis would end up winning the final tie-break 11- 9
