TWO pub landlords behind a familiar destination in Northleach are opening a new venue later this month.

Tom Noest and Peter Creed, who are responsible for The Sherborne Arms, are expanding their portfolio to five pubs with The Tivoli in Andover Road, Cheltenham.

The Tivoli marks the pair’s first foray into a slightly more urban environment, but promises to be “a truly authentic country pub in town”.

It has been renovated with the rural feel and ethos of Tom and Peter’s other pubs, which include The Bell in Langford near Lechlade, The Lamb in Shipton-under-Wychwood and The Fox in Broadwell.

The new venue, which opens on July 26, will feature a large bar area and two floors for dining, including two private rooms for parties, events and meals.

A seasonal menu will offer twists on pub classics and will be inspired by local produce and a nose-to-tail philosophy.

There will also be pub snacks, daily lunch specials, regular chicken and steak nights and local beers, including draught pours from Cheltenham-based brewery DEYA.

In addition, there will be live music nights, the showing of key sport fixtures and screening opportunities for local businesses and private hires.

The Sherborne Arms is a familiar pub to many, having stood in for The Keepers Arms in the BBC mockumentary This Country.

Commenting on the opening of The Tivoli, Tom and Peter said: “We’ve been lucky enough to take on and restore some great buildings so far, and we’re excited to be stretching our wings a bit with The Tivoli.

“It’s a legendary spot to those who’ve been in Cheltenham for a while or grew up around here, so it felt like a natural fit for us.

“We welcome lots of the urban crowd who drive out to our rural pubs, so we’re looking forward to bringing our own slice of the countryside to their doorsteps.”
