LAST month, the SNJ told the story of Noah Townsend, a 10-year-old boy who was having his long hair cut to raise money for his school.

The Year 5 pupil was aiming to raise £500 so that work could be completed on a forest experience area at Uplands Community Primary School.

Noah had his hair cut on June 19 and has smashed his fundraising target, raising over £550.

Thanking his supporters, he said: “Your generosity means so much and will make a difference to Uplands School, and I hope my hair helps a child with cancer.”

Ahead of his haircut, Noah was planning to donate his hair to the Little Princess Trust, which provides free, real-hair wigs to children and young people up to the age of 24 who have lost their hair due to cancer treatment and other conditions.

The student raised just under £600 for Uplands Primary School’s PTA with a cut amid the coronavirus pandemic in 2021.
