MEMBERS of the public helped to detain a man behaving aggressively in Stroud yesterday morning, Tuesday 25 June.

Police received a report that a man was attacking people in Lansdown, Stroud, and had thrown a bin at a car at around 9.25am.

Brave passers-by who had seen his actions stepped in and were able to restrain him before anybody was seriously injured.

Officers were able to arrest the man, who was in his 30s and of no fixed abode, on suspicion of assault causing actual bodily harm.

He currently remains in police custody.
