Community Energy England has welcomed the Labour Party manifesto concluding the Party’s plans have the potential to transform our energy system through local climate action that benefits local people.

The local power plans will be made possible by targeted grants to local authorities and low interest loans to communities that will kick start thousands of transformational local energy projects.

In Stroud we have an energy network just waiting to take advantage of this.

Locally produced energy sold locally will bring down bills and tackle fuel poverty.

In contrast the Conservative manifesto ignores community energy.

It doubles down on its commitment to fossil fuels and the strict planning rules that are stifling local renewable energy.

Time to consider Labour’s Local Power Plans when you vote.
