STROUD TOWN Council is hosting a recruitment evening for a range of new positions amid its ongoing expansion. 

With the council expanding into new premises, they are looking for people to join their  team.

The event - taking place on Wednesday, July 3 from 4pm to 6pm at Thanet House (58 London Road) - is open to anyone with a curiosity about working for a local authority.

Laura Beattie, Community development officer, said: "Do you have a passion for building community and grassroots democracy?

"We are looking for a new Community Development Support Officer to join our team!

"I may be a little biased, but I think this role is immensely rewarding - every day is different, you get to meet residents and groups all across our town and work to support them make the positive changes they want to see!"

The roles currently available include programme manager, community development support officer, fundraiser, and a business administration apprenticeship, that is ideal for school/college leavers.

All positions offer packages with mentoring, training opportunities, and strong pension provisions.

Deputy CEO Kate Montgomery said: "The programme manager is an exciting new role designed for someone with the skills and experience to lead an integrated project and programme approach to service delivery.

"We are looking for an exceptional individual to join our senior leadership team and help us drive forward our vision and action plan, which includes a diverse range of projects."

This recruitment evening allows attendees to meet the friendly existing staff, learn more about each role and its responsibilities, understand the full benefits on offer, and explore potential growth opportunities within the council.

Light refreshments will be served at the drop-in event.
