A MAJOR update has been given on a speed limit in the Ebley bypass.
A temporary 30 mph speed limit has been on the A419 Ebley bypass.
That speed limit which has been in place since March 2022 has now been lifted and reverted back to its original 60mph limit, a Gloucestershire County Council spokesperson confirmed to the SNJ.
Why was there a temporary speed limit?
This was part of Severn Trent Water's £25 million sewage project in Stroud.
The third phase of this project has seen work taking place in fields adjacent to the Ebley bypass to construct a new sewerage site.
As such, a temporary 30mph speed limit has been in place since March 2022.
Temporary traffic lights have also been in place place mid-way along the bypass between the Sainsbury's roundabout and Ryeford Industrial Estate for the first three months of this phase.
