A COMMUNITY honoured D-Day war heroes on the 80th anniversary of the Normandy landings.
The Chalford Sports & Social Club, which recently won Stroud CAMRA Club of the Year for the fourth consecutive year, was the setting for the D-Day 80 event on Thursday, June 6.

The event welcomed hundreds of people and had a red, white and blue theme.
The CSSC hall was set up with World War II displays from Chalford Hill Primary School, including baby gas marks and military uniforms.
D-Day commemorations were shown on TV screens, and tables were decorated in red, white and blue.
Fish and chips were also served to tie in with National Fish & Chip Day.
Outside were two marquees and more seating.
The Tops & Bottoms group performed singalong wartime songs, and Chalford Band also provided entertainment before Chalford Parish Council chair Emma Trinder read the International Tribute and lit a Beacon of Peace.
The event included a story from a 92-year-old woman about experiencing D-Day at the age of 12 and waving the troops off in Southampton.
Chalford Parish Council was also involved in bringing the event together.
