A MAN who was caught without insurance while driving along a key road in Stroud faces a hefty fine. 

Stephen Campbell, aged 56, was caught by police while driving a Peugeot in Cainscross Road on October 25 last year.

The case was heard via the single justice procedure at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on Tuesday, June 4.

Campbell, of Phoenix Gardens, Swindon, was fined £660, ordered to pay a £264 surcharge plus £90 in costs - a total of £1,014.

Six points were also added to his licence.
