A NATIONAL TREASURE has made an appearance at a county festival.
Chris Packham, presenter of the BBC series Springwatch and Winterwatch launched the three full days of talks, interviews and debates with a special appearance last night, Thursday.
Chris Packham was on stage at Gloucester’s iconic thirteenth-century Blackfriars Priory alongside the History Festival President, Oxford historian and TV presenter Professor Janina Ramirez.
The Really Wild Show star discussed his love of wildlife, his favourite TV moments, the highs and lows of natural history broadcasting, asking what the past can teach us about the environment, nature conservation and the future for the natural world.
Other highlights of the Spring Weekend include the acclaimed TV historian Michael Wood discussing one of the world’s greatest poets, Du Fu, Suzannah Lipscomb recording an episode of her hit podcast Not Just The Tudors, the real story of the Siege of Gloucester in 1643, award-winning Empireland author Sathnam Sanghera and a timely debate on the war in Ukraine.
The spring edition runs until Sunday, April 15.
