THREE FRIENDS who visited Stroud a few months ago have opened up a convenience store in the high street.
Directors of the new store Kajamugan Selvaratnam, Kaviras Thankarajah and Jeyam Sivakumaran visited the town a few months ago.
Kajamugan and Kaviras are from Cheltenham and they have a convenience store in Leckhampton, while Jeyam is from Bristol and has two convenience stores in the city.
Their trip to Stroud inspired them to open a store which is now open from 7am to 10pm every day and sells alcohol, soft drinks, food, chocolate and more.
Kajamugan Selvaratnam said: "Stroud is a beautiful and peaceful place with a great sense of community.
"We are extremely touched by the warm welcome we have received from the local community.
"We look forward to meeting and getting to know everyone and hope that they will support our business to grow.
"We have already received some great feedback and we will look to make improvements to fit the needs of the people in Stroud.
"We also want to support the local community, such as by doing charity works."
