A grandmother has been left outraged after she says her McDonald's order for her grandchildren never arrived - and says Uber Eats have refused to give her a refund.
Cath Ingram from Swindon ordered £33.94 online from McDonald's for herself, her youngest daughter and her three granddaughters on Saturday, January 20 at around 4.30pm, but says the food never came.
She was told her order may be around half a mile away - but couldn't leave the house because of the children - and said that her grandchildren were left in tears.
The food was ordered through the McDonald’s app but delivered by Uber Eats.
Cath said: “My granddaughters were really upset because they hadn’t had a McDonald's in a long time.
”They were crying for hours because I promised them and I had let my grandchildren down.
“I was so angry because its not the first time it has happened.
“It is appalling, absolutely appalling. I cannot afford to lose that money.
“I was angry, I was shocked, I wanted to cry. It is just not fair.”
Cath ordered the food and then after around 20 minutes received a message through the Uber Eats app informing her that the delivery driver was attempting to contact her.
She was then told the food had been delivered and was sent an image of the order on the floor at the back of a silver car - but she had no idea where this was.
Cath, 53, was told by Uber Eat's customer service that her order had been delivered, and she claims she was told that the food might have been left half a mile down the road.
Cath was unable to leave the house and search for the food because she was caring for her grandchildren.
When informing Uber Eats that the food had not been delivered, she says they disputed this and refused a refund. Cath says she would like the money repaid as well as compensation for the stress it has caused her and her family.
Both Uber Eats and McDonalds have been contacted for comment but have not responded.
