My little dog Maisie, my beloved companion, has lived in our local community for an impressive 15.5 years during which time she brought joy and happiness to all who knew her.
She was a social dog, frequently visiting local shops and attending U3A meetings and garden clubs.
Maisie even accompanied me to Dursley Tabernacle Church, where it was said she attended more often than some of the members.
Sadly, Maisie passed away on Christmas Day due to kidney failure. However, the local community is unaware of her passing, and I would like to inform them through this letter.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Rowe Veterinary Group in Wotton under Edge and the Rowe Veterinary Hospital in Patchway for their compassionate and professional care during Maisie's short illness.
Her passing has left a void in my life, and it is a reminder of the importance of having a pet.
Pets offer unconditional love, are a constant source of companionship, and help us to stay active and engaged with the world around us.
They also bring joy to others, such as guests in residential homes who enjoy the pleasure of stroking and interacting with our four-legged friends.
In honour of Maisie and all the pets that bring such joy to our lives, I plan to organise a coffee morning at the Chantry Centre.
This event will provide an opportunity for members of the public to come together, share stories about their pets, and enjoy the wonderful cakes the Centre is renowned for.
I hope you can join us in this celebration of our beloved pets.
