A WINDOW was smashed at a pub after controversial commentator Katie Hopkins performed a comedy gig last night, Thursday.
Ms Hopkins appeared at the Star Inn, Whiteshill, last night for a comedy gig.
A window was smashed at the venue following the event - however there is no suggestion that it is linked to the protesters who gathered beforehand.
Police have issued a statement confirming that the protest concluded safely.
A police spokesperson said: "Police attended a protest against an event which was taking place in the Whiteshill area of Stroud yesterday evening (Thursday, 11 January).
"Officers were there to ensure public safety while allowing people their right to carry out a safe and peaceful protest.
"No arrests were made and the protest concluded safely.”
Police confirmed that a window was smashed at the pub and a picture posted on social media by a gig attendee shows a large window smashed next to a patio door.
There is no suggestion that the damage was linked to the protesters who gathered beforehand.
