A FLOOD alert has been placed on rivers across the area as Storm Henk continues to hit the region.

The same flood alert is in place for the river Frome.
It reads: "River levels have risen at the Brimscombe river gauge as a result of heavy rainfall. Consequently, flooding of roads and farmland is possible.
"We expect flooding to affect low lying land and roads adjacent to the river from Elmore to Sharpness.
"Other locations that may be affected include Chalford, Leonard Stanley and Cambridge.
"We are closely monitoring the situation.
"Please avoid using low lying footpaths near local watercourses and plan driving routes to avoid low lying roads near rivers, which may be flooded.
This message will be updated by 7pm today, 03/01/2024, or as the situation changes.
