HUNDREDS of homes across the Stroud area have been hit by power cuts today.
Properties affected include areas in Nailsworth, Whiteshill and Wotton.
Many properties have also experienced flickering lights and power issues, including in Cashes Green and Brimscombe.
It is understood it has been caused by a fault in the National Grid’s “underground network”.
A spokesperson said this evening: “Reason for outage - there is currently a fault on our underground network, we are working hard to resolve the issue.”
According to their website, National Grid said around 2,000 homes in the Nailsworth area were left without power and engineers were called to the scene.
Meanwhile, they believe power is due to be restored in the Wotton area by 10.30pm.
