INCREDIBLE people across the area have been recognised in the New Year Honours list.
The annual awards mark the achievements and service of exceptional people across the country.
More than 1,227 people have been awarded honours this year - including two recipients from Stroud - a Nailsworth community champion and well-known author Jilly Cooper.
This year, 90 people in the South West received honours, which is just over seven per cent of the total number of recipients.
