A CHEF who serves ‘some of the best Thai food in Stroud’ drew a large crowd for the latest in a series of live cookery demonstrations at Five Valleys shopping centre.

Fans of Asian cuisine were in for a treat on Sunday as Thai2Go showed off how to make culinary creations from the Far East including Prawn Pad Thai, Pad Krapow Mu and Lab Gai.

Foodie fans packed into the tables in-front of the demonstration to ask questions about the recipes, whilst many other shoppers walking past paused to watch the action.

In addition, tasters were handed out for each dish which went down a storm with visitors.

Thai2Go was one of the first vendors to open at the markets in Five Valleys and in February launched their second outlet, The Noodle Bar.

Husband and wife team, Ian and Sudjai, have built up a strong customer base of people. using her skills and signature recipes from Northeast Thailand where she originated until coming to live in the UK 27 years ago.

Jack Simpson, centre manager at Five Valleys, said: “People really seem to love Thai2Go and their authentic Thai recipes.

“This was the latest in our series of live cookery demonstrations, following on from the fantastic success of our previous events, and it was great to see so many people enjoying themselves.

“The events, which will be held on most Sundays leading up to Christmas, will provide the perfect opportunity for our wonderful artisan producers to showcase their products and share their knowledge."

The previous two live cooking events, by Jack Knight and Fat Toni’s Pizzeria, both drew large crowds.

Jack, of Knights Artisan Butchers, will take centre stage for the latest live cookery demonstration this Sunday, November 26, from noon.

He will be showing people how to butcher venison cannon and talking about the cut of meat and the best way to prepare it, before cooking it with a redcurrantand pork jus.

Future demonstrations are also planned, with Armorel Willoughby, from Armadeli delicatessen and cheese shop, set to guide people on how to put together the perfect cheeseboard on Sunday, December 3, from noon.

In addition, there are many Black Friday deals available at the shopping centre that shoppers can take advantage of this week.
