A STROUD business has relocated in the town centre after 31 years.

Just Beauty, which was based in Lansdown, has moved to London Road.

The salon - which offers beauty and spa treatments - is now located at Palace Chambers, 41 London Road.

The move was motivated by issues such as accessibility and rising costs.

After 31 years at the corner of Lansdown and Gloucester Street, owner Jane Astbury said she was delighted with the new location.

She said: "We have been delighted with our new establishment as the entrance is straight off the street.

"There are no stairs to contend with as with our previous premises, although lovely it wasn't very accessible to all our clients.

"I had been trading from Lansdown for 31 years and needed to make a decision about what would be best moving forwards, especially with heating and lighting costs rising.

"Lansdown was a big space to heat with large high ceilinged rooms and no double glazing.

"We now have a fully refurbed salon on one level and for the first time a window for passing trade.

"London Road is great for footfall as there is a well established dental practice and of course Waitrose nearby.

"The building is occupied by many different businesses so it's great to have a busy hub of people coming and going during the day.

"The Salon is surprisingly quiet, our main treatment room overlooks Butterow so it still feels very snug.

"We benefit from a private car park and clients have easy access for the free after three scheme every day in the Brunel car park which is just behind us.

"I've noticed that already there are new enquiries coming in so I know it was the right decision for my business.

"There was, therefore, no pressure to move from where we were.

"I had been thinking about this for a while and am really glad as it's the right thing to do for the salon and our clients."
