THE OWNERS of a bar at a popular Cotswolds farm shop want to sell alcohol until 10pm.

Plans have been submitted by the owners of the Jolly Nice farm shop, cafe and drive through takeaway and bar want permission to vary the licence of their premises in Frampton Mansell near Minchinhampton.

Founded by a farming family in 2013, they say the Jolly Nice Farm Shop is renowned for its exceptional homemade ice cream, native breed butchery and ever-changing array of locally sourced goods.

They currently have permission to sell alcohol for consumption on or off site from 8am until 8pm every day.

But they want to extend this until 10pm.

The award-winning farm shop consists of a butcher, floristry department, self-service fishmongers and they sell fruit and vegetables.

The shop also sells local wines, beers and chocolates.

The licence variation is to allow the Hive Bar to be open until 10pm.

The rest of the site will continue to close at 8pm according to the applicants.

A neighbour has objected to the proposals raising concerns over noise disturbance. “The noise levels from the Hive on a daily basis are a big issue for us, and there have been no attempts to shield our property from this noise.

“The current 8pm opening hours are disruptive enough, but the noise of the live music events that extend to 10pm is unacceptable.”

Cotswold District Council’s licensing sub-committee is due to be considered at their meeting on November 1.
